US, Italian police corps celebrate longtime partnership

From left, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Anthony Spinelli, and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Franco Bove, both with the Italian Carabinieri and CoESPU, and U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Joel Zecca of the SETAF-AF Operational Protection Directorate, visit with each other following an award ceremony recognizing both Spinelli and Bove with the U.S. Army Military Police Regiment Friend of the Regiment award. The three have worked together since 2008 in many exercises and missions, and the ceremony highlighted the longstanding partnership and efforts of the Italian Carabinieri Corps and U.S. Army Military Police Corps.

Sponsored by the U.S. Army Chief of Staff, the 12th iteration of ALFS brought together land forces chiefs from approximately 40 African nations, April 22-26, here near Victoria Falls, along with six European nations, Brazil and the United States.
