VICENZA, Italy -- The U.S. Army Health Center Vicenza administered the Vicenza military community's first COVID-19 vaccines on Caserma Ederle on Jan. 8. The first health care worker from the clinic to receive the vaccine was Ashley Reinhold, an Acute Respiratory Clinic registered nurse. U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa Commander Maj. Gen. Andrew M. Rohling presented Reinhold with a SETAF-AF coin in appreciation for volunteering to receive the first dose. Following Reinhold, other clinic health care workers and first responders also received the vaccine.
The U.S. Army Health Center Vicenza staff worked long weeks and hours to ensure proper preparation, delivery and execution were in place for this historical moment for the garrison.
