African land force chiefs assemble for annual summit

Forty African nations, NATO allies, Department of State officials, non-governmental organizations, State Partnership Program adjutant generals, African Union, U.S. Africa Command, and other senior military leaders participate in this year’s African Land Forces Summit in Abuja, Nigeria, April 16-19, 2018. ALFS 18 is a weeklong seminar that brings together land force chiefs from across Africa to discuss and develop cooperative solutions, as well as improve transregional security and stability. Senior enlisted leaders from Africa, Europe and the United States gathered for the Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF), part of the African Land Forces Summit (ALFS) 2025, held April 8 and 10 in Accra. SELF runs concurrently with ALFS, and features specialized plenary and breakout sessions for senior enlisted leaders across Africa, the US and Europe, dedicated to topics related to developing and leading enlisted soldiers.
