US Army makes big plans for summer exercise in Africa

Scheduled for June, African Lion, U.S. Africa Command's largest exercise, has increased interoperability among U.S. partners and allies since 2003. Senior enlisted leaders from Africa, Europe and the United States gathered for the Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF), part of the African Land Forces Summit (ALFS) 2025, held April 8 and 10 in Accra. SELF runs concurrently with ALFS, and features specialized plenary and breakout sessions for senior enlisted leaders across Africa, the US and Europe, dedicated to topics related to developing and leading enlisted soldiers.
