Representing the United States Military Academy is a distinct honor. For the representatives attending the Vicenza College Fair, it's a chance to share insights into academy life and the lifelong benefits of a West Point education.

The main planning event sets the stage for SETAF-AF and Ghanian planners to work together to build the event schedule, develop the ALFS 25 theme, and invite experts and leaders to present topics. In the months leading up to ALFS, planners will continue to meet with Ghanian officials and businesses to tour potential venues, and culturally significant locations. ACCRA, Ghana (Nov. 8) — Planning teams from the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) gathered in Accra this week to continue planning for the upcoming African Land Forces Summit (ALFS) scheduled for April 7-11, 2025.

Strengthening spiritual ties: US, Malawi chaplains engage in collaborative training

LILONGWE, Malawi – The Malawi Defense Force (MDF) recently invited chaplains from U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and their new state partners, the North Carolina Army National Guard, to participate in a military-to-military (M2M) exchange. This collaboration marks the first interaction with MDF chaplains since 2019, highlighting a renewed commitment to partnership and religious support.
Exercise Justified Accord 2025 expands size and scope in Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya — Multinational planners inked the final details for exercise Justified Accord 2025 (JA25), increasing the number participants by nearly 50 percent. Joining Kenya as host nations, Tanzania and Djibouti will also conduct portions of the upcoming exercise, which features over 20 nations, nearly 1,500 participants and several new events.

Every year, retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Ed Furnish says he gets to celebrate two birthdays—one in September and one in October. The first is his actual birthday; the second is the anniversary of U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) —an organization that holds a special meaning in his life since he was stationed here in 1959, when he arrived as a 17-year-old from a small farm in Indiana.
US ordnance team disarms more than just weapons with African partners

VICENZA, Italy – A soldier gently places his finger against a detonation switch. As quick as a lightning strike, a spark speeds down the firing wire. Less than a second later, an explosion ripples through the air, leaving behind only smoke and fragments where moments earlier lay the threat of an unexploded ordnance (UXO).
