The U.S. Army Africa-led engagement was one of several missions that brought subject matter experts to share their best practices with engineers in Niger, Chad, Nigeria and Cameroon to increase their capacity to conduct counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) missions.
The USARAF C-IED program plans, coordinates, and oversees the execution of C-IED training with multiple partner nations across the African continent with the intent of increasing C-IED capacity and capability on the African continent.
The commanding general of U.S. Army Africa, Maj. Gen. Joseph P. Harrington will host the African Alumni Symposium, at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, Carlisle, PA, Mar. 6-10, 2017. The symposium is a U.S. Africa Command event bringing together African alumni of U.S. Army professional military education schools, in order to strengthen U.S. and African partners’ relationships

Brig. Gen. Kenneth H. Moore, Jr. is the Deputy Commanding General for U.S. Army Africa and Commander of its Army Reserve Engagement Cell. He was commissioned as an infantry officer in the Army Reserve in 1983. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the Civil Affairs Officer Advanced Course, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, the United States Army War College and the Advanced Joint Professional Military Education.
