US, Italy conduct staff training exercise ahead of exercise Saber Junction 2024

VICENZA, ITALY - Soldiers from the Vittorio Veneto Division, Italian Army, and the 173rd Airborne Brigade participated in a weeklong staff exercise with U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) to prepare for exercise Saber Junction 2024 (SJ24).
173rd Airborne Brigade to deliver toys to local Italian community

VICENZA, Italy – Paratroopers with the 173rd Airborne Brigade will conducted a toy donation to the community of Camisano Vicentino, Dec. 5, 2023. This event allows the Paratroopers of the Brigade to partake in the meaning of the season and help less fortunate children during the holidays.
Lt. Gen. Laura A. Potter met Soldiers during her recent visit to Europe, she emphasized the importance of intelligence support to military commands and took time to connect with Soldiers.
Winners announced for SETAF-AF Best Warrior & Best Squad Competition

Approximately 40 Soldiers across U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, participated in the 2022 Best Warrior & Best Squad Competition held on Caserme Del Din, May 23-26. The winners were announced Wednesday, June 8 at an award ceremony.
SETAF-AF, 173rd Paratroopers strengthen interoperability with Tunisian partners

Paratroopers from 173rd Airborne Brigade and U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa joined Tunisia Armed Forces in an airborne exercise near Bizerte, Tunisia, March 3-4.
Approximately 50 Soldiers from SETAF-AF and 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, parachuted alongside 50 Tunisian military counterparts onto the Al Amila drop zone from Sidi Ahmed Air Base near Bizerte, Tunisia.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is part of the U.S. Africa Command Contingency Response Force in north and west Africa. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside Allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
Army Secretary visits USAREUR-AF sites in first tour overseas

Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth wrapped up her first overseas tour this week to U.S. Army Europe and Africa sites in Germany, Poland, and Italy to reinforce U.S. commitment to the NATO Alliance and discuss USAREUR-AF initiatives with senior leaders in the theater.
North and West Africa Response Force conducts engagement in Niger

U.S. Army Soldiers from Task Force Bayonet, assigned to the East Africa Response Force (EARF) in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), alongside Soldiers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade, based out of Vicenza, Italy, traveled to Somalia as part of a security exercise to Mogadishu International Airport (MIA), Jan. 20-21.
