The Utah Army National Guard Medical Detachmnet, the U.S. Army 30th Medical Brigade, and the Royal Moroccan Army collaborated to provide real-world humanitarian assistance to the local population in Morocco while simultaneously conducting medical readiness training during African Lion 2022.

SETAF-AF, 173rd Paratroopers strengthen interoperability with Tunisian partners

Paratroopers from 173rd Airborne Brigade and U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa joined Tunisia Armed Forces in an airborne exercise near Bizerte, Tunisia, March 3-4.
Approximately 50 Soldiers from SETAF-AF and 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, parachuted alongside 50 Tunisian military counterparts onto the Al Amila drop zone from Sidi Ahmed Air Base near Bizerte, Tunisia.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is part of the U.S. Africa Command Contingency Response Force in north and west Africa. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside Allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
Confindustria Day at Caserma Del Din showcases facilities and future projects

VICENZA, Italy – Members of the Vicenza Confindustria met with leaders of the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa on Feb. 22, 2022, to tour the facilities at Caserma Del Din in Vicenza, as well as learn more about the mission of SETAF-AF and projects that the U.S. Army has planned in the Vicenza community.
What began as a way to practice medicine and pay for college has become a life calling for one U.S. Army surgeon.
Col. Jennifer Gurney, a surgeon with the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research at the Joint Base San Antonio – Fort Sam Houston, Texas, says that her reason to continue her 20-year career is to help build the training and standards it takes to maintain Soldier readiness on the battlefield.

African Lion 21: Multinational night live fire event strengthens interoperability, readiness

Soldiers with the Georgia Army National Guard completed multinational live-fire training under the concealment of night during exercise African Lion 21 June 13-14, 2021, in Tan Tan, Morocco. Artillery fire filled the sky with illumination and infrared light to enable maneuver of infantry underneath.
