Fit to fight

Soldiers assigned to U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), conduct an Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) on Caserma Del Din, Vicenza, Italy, Jan. 24, 2023. The ACFT provides the Army an assessment of all Soldiers’ muscular strength, endurance, power, speed, agility, coordination, flexibility, and balance. It was designed to better reflect the stresses of a combat environment, to address the poor physical fitness of recruits, and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries for service members. VICENZA, Italy – Over 1,000 Soldiers from U.S. Army units across Europe, including 173rd Airborne Brigade and U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), as well as foreign partner soldiers, gathered at Caserma Del Din to earn the much-coveted Expert Soldier, Infantryman and Field Medical Badges, also known as the ‘E3B.’
