Sky Soldier wins title of “Physician Assistant of the Year” in U.S. Army Europe and Africa

VICENZA, Italy – U.S. Army Capt. Christopher Donaghe is a Physician Assistant assigned to 2nd Battalion, 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment “The Rock” in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. On May 20, Capt. Donaghe officially received the U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) 2021 Physician Assistant of the Year Award. The Commanding General of Regional Health Command Europe and Command Surgeon of USAREUR-AF, Brig. Gen. Mark Thompson traveled to Vicenza to present Donaghe with his well-deserved award for his selfless care of hundreds of Sky Soldiers.

Rohling, commanding general for U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, presents Certificates of Appreciation for Patriotic Civilian Service to Giancarlo Lotto and Andrea Palumbo May 18, 2022. Lotto and Palumbo are volunteer members of Croce Verde Vicenza. Croce Verde is an organization that carries out ambulance transport, care for the elderly and disabled as well as other services.
Maj. Gen. Andrew M. Rohling, commanding general for U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa presents Ms. Monica Ronzani with the Civilian Award for Humanitarian Service May 18 at a ceremony held at the Ospedale San Bortolo di Vicenza. Ronzani, in-patient coordinator for the hospital, distinguished herself over the course of several months caring for a U.S. Army civilian employee while keeping Army leadership informed. Ronzani also personally coordinated the patient’s transfer to U.S. Army Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany when the patient’s situation became dire and required further support.

More than 800[ U.S. Army paratroopers from Vicenza, Italy, were set to jump into Latvia Friday as the final event of Exercise Swift Response 22 – a U.S. Army Europe and Africa exercise in high north and Baltic states of the European continent. The exercise involved more than 9,000 troops from 17 countries.
