Nigerien Armed Forces recruits learn and work on sight picture during a marksmanship block of instruction, while an instructor makes corrections on body position and the proper way to hold the weapon. Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, of the 1st Brigade Combat Team "Bastogne", 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), spent four weeks observing and mentoring basic combat training cadre of the FAN. U.S. Army Africa commanding general, Maj. Gen. Joseph P. Harrington met with consulate generals from Morocco, Turkey, Senegal, Germany, Algeria, and the Netherlands as well as the Italian ministry of foreign affairs based in Italy Nov. 30, 2016 to discuss the role of USARAF on the African Continent and the continued friendship with Italy. The meeting, hosted by Consulate General Milan Philip Reeker, was designed to give a better insight of USARAF missions to key African partners and European allies within the U.S. Consulate Milan Region.
